Pack a takeaway in a tupperware
Why should you do this?
Plastic pollution is major concern for the environment, as it takes a very long time to biodegrade. Many animals die directly or indirectly because of it every year (National Geographic, 2019). Since we eat animals who eat plastic, some of it also ends up in our organisms. As of now, we are still unsure whether this plastic in our bodies will cause any harm in the long run (National Geographic, 2022). However, to preserve animal species and to keep us safe - just in case plastic turns out harmful - we must try to reduce our plastic production.
What is the goal and how to achieve it?
This week, you will order takeaway from a restaurant and bring your own tupperware and bag to bring the food home. You should also refuse any throaway spoon, fork, straw, etc.
Side bonus:
You will have less garbage to take care of.
