Eat a soy meat steak
Why should you do this?
Animal agriculture is responsible for 18% of all greenhouse gases (The University of British Columbia, 2017), which is far more than industry and transportation. This is all the more shocking considering that many people living in developed countries eat too much meat (SBS, 2017), which can cause health problems in the long run. The idea this week is not to ban meat from our diet altogether, but rather to explore some alternatives to help reduce meat consumption.
What is the goal and how to achieve it?
This week you are to eat a soy meat steak. If vegan meat puts you off, you can try some other meat alternatives such as tofu or tempeh. You can either go to a restaurant that serves such dishes, or cook them at home. The key is that you enjoy eating it.
Side bonus:
You will discover a new delicious dish (or why not even several?)
