Delete 50 personal emails or 500 professional emails

Why should you do this?
Although nowadays most people are aware that turning off electrical appliances (lights, TVs, etc) helps reducing energy consumption, many are still unaware that digital activity pollutes as well. All our data stored on "the Cloud" is stored in data center that are air conditioned (Climate Consulting, 2021). In fact, the Internet pollutes as much as all air traffic in the world (Energuide.be, 2020). An average person sends and receives around 140 emails per day, which, in a year, creates as much CO2 as flight from London to Bruges (CW Jobs, n.d.)

What is the goal and how to achieve it?
This week, your task is easy: delete 50 emails from your personal mailbox, or 500 from your professional one. Even if you do not want to lose any important information, there are many emails you can delete: newletters, emails about one-time events, emails about daily things such as your janotir or office manager informing you of a fire drill, etc.

Side bonus:
Your mailbox will be much easier to navigate. If you use an app for your emails (rather than checking them online), your app might also become slightly faster and experience less bugs.
